This antenna is mounted on metal and plastic structures and is locked from the inside of the structure by a nut. Adhesive foam at the base provides a watertight seal to the mounting structure. High quality waterproof and corrosion resistant Teflon jacket RG316 is used for the cable. Two of these G30 separated at distance from each other are ideal for the latest LTE MIMO spatial diversity applications. Customized cable length and connectors are available. Taoglas recommend a minimum cable length of 70 mm when used on a ground plane to achieve an efficiency of greater than 40% in the 900 MHz band and greater than 60% in the 1800 MHz band.

The strong magnet base is extremely stable and robust using only high quality neodymium magnets for a secure magnetic mount to ensure a high pull force to disengage. Performance on 5G n78 (3500 MHz) is acceptable but weakened due to the antenna's 19% radiation efficiency at this band.

This antenna is extensively on vehicles as it's a great low-profile unit meaning vehicle height clearance isn't adversely affected. When mounted to a metal ground plane performance is excellent a great solution for vehicles using a 4G LTE modem. While technically providing some operation on 5G 3.5 GHz bands performance is highly dependent on ground plane design. Caution should be exercised with this antenna - radiation efficiency is considerably lower and may result in decreased performance in some applications.
